Definitely Loving It!

I just can't get over how great it is to be on summer vacation!  I have ALWAYS loved having my summers off, but for some reason I have been particularly excited about this summer.  The boys are at a good age to plan some fun activities to do with them, but they also love to just play, play, play. We are having the best time!

Our day goes by so fast and I am truly exhausted at 8:30 p.m., but I am loving all of this time with my sweet boys.

I started my day out at 5:45 a.m. and met my friend, Jesika, for a long walk.  4.5 miles, talking, and exercising was a great start to my day!  I love having this done before my boys even wake up!  Back out again at 5:30 tomorrow morning!

Dave ran an errand with the boys this morning and when they came back they started playing.

Reese was on Dave's lawnmower pretending to drive and making all kinds of noise!

Dane found "chickens" in the garage.  Dave explained to him that they were turkeys.  The boys had a great time with them.

At one point I heard Dane say, "It's not easy to ride a bike holding a giant turkey."

Reese really couldn't figure it out.

Scooter time

Then we moved to the backyard for some baseball.

Snack time....strawberries and watermelon

Dane did not want his picture taken.

Then he yelled, "Hey mommy, ready now!"

Playing in the tent

Reading books before bed....for some reason everytime I took a picture Reese would open his mouth.

Poor Dane, everyday he asks if the pool water is warm enough to go swimming.  We need a week of hot weather so it will warm up that water for us!

Our Day

It was so nice to spend the day at home with my boys.  Still waiting for it to sink in that I don't have to work again until August...such a great feeling!

I woke up to a little voice saying, "Is it wake up time?"  It was almost 3 hours later than my usual wake up time and a much nicer way to wake up!

Strawberries, bananas, and watermelon....I have happy boys!

It was a strange day here...cloudy, sunny, windy...
We played outside a bit!

Reese loves the wagon.  He climbs in and sits for a while.  He doesn't really care if anyone wants to take him on a ride or not.  He's happy to just hang out.

After naps I loaded the boys up in the double jogger and off we went to the playground.  A 2 mile walk round trip was quite a workout pushing 65+ pounds of cuteness.  One of my friends reminded me that with the weight of the stroller I was probably pushing close to 100 pounds!  Plus there were several hills to conquer on the route!

Reese is quite the little swimmer in the bathtub lately.
I can't wait to see him in the pool!

Loving this time with my boys!

First Weekend of Summer!

Last Wednesday was our last day of school with students.  I had to check out of my room and turn in final paperwork on Thursday (I was out of there by 10:30, had lunch with a friend, and got a haircut and highlight before picking the boys up from daycare at 3:00).  Friday we had an optional teacher inservice day that I participate in.  So Saturday started my first official day of summer vacation.

I found Dane laying on the floor one morning, wearing the St. Louis Cardinal socks that Delaney gave him last weekend.

I work with some great girls!
We celebrated the beginning of summer together Friday evening at a local winery.

Little Reese is such a funny little guy.

Sunday morning we went to Kirkwood to spend some time with family.
We had a picnic at the park on Sunday night.

Reese just ran and ran around the park.

The boys looking at the big fish in the pond.

I asked the boys to turn around so I could get their picture.  I don't know how I got these expressions.

This boy will climb on anything!

Reese and Trey heading down the trail.

I can't get over how big Reese is getting!

Dane loved jumping on the rocks at the park.

Not wanting to hold Daddy's hand as he went down the slide.

When we got to Kirkwood on Sunday Dane and I went to Trey's baseball game with my mom.  After the game Dane went home with Aunt Amy to play for a while. When he showed up at the park with them he had a baseball helmet that Aunt Amy had given to him.  He loved it and wore it all evening.

So sweaty from wearing the helmet.

Dane ended up going back to Aunt Amy and Uncle Darnel's house again to spend the night.  He slept in a tent with Delaney and Trey and was so excited!

Today we spent the day at Mama and Papa's house with Aunt Amy, Uncle Darnel, Uncle T.J., Aunt Ashley, Aunt Katie, Uncle Tom, and all of the kids.  The boys ran and ran all day long!  They had so much fun with their cousins.

We also celebrated Trey and Delaney's birthdays.

Dane was invited to Trey's birthday party with his friends on Saturday and he is soooo excited!  He keeps telling me that Reese needs to take a nap while he is at the party because he is too little to come!

This girl loves zebra print!

Ice Cream Cake

Cookie Cake

Dane told us...."I love icing!"

I had two very tired boys tonight and we drove home.  Dane was asleep before we got off my mom and dad's street.
He keeps telling me, "It's summer time mom!"
