Vacation Bible School

Last week Dane had Vacation Bible School at church.  He was very excited about it!  I was a little worried when I thought about the fact that he was one of the youngest and possibly the youngest kid attending.  You have to be 4 years old by August 1st.  Dane will turn 4 on July 21st.

Vacation Bible School was Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-noon.  Monday morning I checked him in and they told me where to take him to meet his group.  All of the preschool groups were meeting in the same area on the first day.  Dane was so excited when he saw Delaney.  Delaney was a group assistant this year.  We realized that Delaney was not the assistant in Dane's group though.  Neither Delaney or Dane were very happy about this.  Aunt Amy took Trey down to his group and stopped to talk to one of the volunteers on her way.  Delaney had requested to work with Dane's group in the first place, so they just let Dane move over to her group and they were both very happy!  Once he was in her group he waved good-bye to me and told me he'd see me later.

I got a good workout with my sisters during the time he was in Vacation Bible School.  Amy, Katie, and I walked 3-4 miles everyday during Vacation Bible School and then I had time to run a couple of errands each day as well.  Reese babbled during our walks and checked everything out.

Everyday when I picked Dane up he was very excited to go back the next day.  Tuesday he got a bag to collect food for Kingdom House.

Tuesday evening I was hosting the Teachers' Bunco group at my house so I left Kirkwood after picking Dane up from Bible School.  Dane and Reese were going to stay with my parents for the evening.

Dane ended up going with Aunt Amy and Uncle Darnel.
They played at the park and got snow cones.

He is always so excited for a sleepover.

I got back to Kirkwood Wednesday morning and picked Dane up from Vacation Bible School.  Day 3 of hanging out with his cousins in the afternoon.  They left about 3:00 because Delaney had a sports camp for a couple of hours.  Dane then asked if they could come spend the night at Mama and Papa's house.  So, they had another sleep over.

Watching a movie before bed

Thursday Dave came up to Kirkwood and we met friends to go to the Kenny Chesney Concert.  Taylor came over and played with Dane and Reese, fed them dinner, and put them to bed.

Friday was the Finale at Vacation Bible School and they celebrated by having a snow cone truck come to the parking lot.

This was kind of backwards but we hadn't had lunch so we ate our snowcones, then headed to Pretzel Boys for lunch.  After lunch Reese fell asleep so I took him back to Mama and Papa's house for a nap and Dane and I headed to the pool with Aunt Amy and the kids.

Dane had a blast floating in the lazy river with Delaney, Trey, and their friends.  He went down the slide..many, many times.  He was really not ready to leave, but I promised him we will go back again.

Friday night we watched Delaney play softball, then loaded everything from the week in the car and headed home.  The boys were both asleep in a heartbeat and slept late on Saturday morning.

It was a busy, fun week.  I am sure Dane is missing his cousins already.  Dane told me he had a "super fun" week and that he really wants to go back again.

Dane

Last Sunday Dave and Dane went to hang out with the Deters during Reese's naptime.

The boys were ready to go!

Going tubing!

When Reese got up from his nap we went down to the Deter's house for dinner.
Once we got home it was bath time and soon after Dane was sound asleep on the couch.

Days at Home

We have had a busy week so I have some pictures from the past few weeks that I still needed to share.

Sweet boys ready to go to the pool

We have a good system down.  We head to the pool as soon as it opens and swim for about 2 hours.  We come home, have a late lunch, and everyone naps.   Some days Reese can't stay awake through lunch.

We have done some yard work and got a trailer of mulch to spread.  Dane helped Dave one morning.

While he was working he picked a flower for me.

Swim lessons at the pool

Doing some "school work" one evening after Reese went to bed.

Tower Grove Park

On Wednesday we spent the morning at Tower Grove Park with Mama, Aunt Amy, Aunt Kara, and all of the cousins.

We got there early and played on the playgrounds.

We took a break and ate a picnic lunch.
After lunch the kids changed into their swimsuits to play in the fountains and splash pad.

We stopped for ice cream on the way home and the boys slept the entire way home and until 5:00 p.m.

Our Busy Weekend

We had a busy weekend this past weekend.

We started out by getting ready for it by going to get the boys' hair cut.
They held hands in the car on the way.

Both did a great job sitting very still!

Friday afternoon ice cream treat!

I left Saturday morning around 5:30 am to head to St. Louis to meet my mom and my sisters for Race for a Cure.

It is always so amazing to see all of the people.

When the race was over I went back to my parents house and got ready for Baby Trey's first birthday party.
Dave and the boys met me at my parents and we headed out to the park for the party.

Baby Trey starting to dig into his cake

Sunday we celebrated Father's Day with breakfast at my mom and dad's house and then dinner at Amy and Darnel's house.  I helped make both meals so I didn't get to take any pictures.  The kids had a blast jumping on the trampoline and playing.  We had a great time hanging out with family.  We hope all of the dads enjoyed their day!

Finally warm enough to swim....

Last week with the weather cooler it was just about killing Dane.  He has been wanting to go swimming since he saw the community manager working on the pool in early May.

While waiting for the days to warm up.....

Dane played superheros and had me tuck a blanket into his shirt as a cape.

Reese had the tiniest scratch on his leg, but since Dane had a bandaid he was convinced Reese needed one as well.  He wanted to put the bandaid on Reese.

The boys took their Thomas the Train flashlights into the dark bathroom and played with them.

Reese loves Dane's baseball and football helmets.

He usually wears them backwards around the house.

Dane and I finally got a few hours at the pool on Monday.

He went back and forth between the big pool and the baby pool and loved every minute!

Reese wasn't feeling well so he stayed home.
He loved wearing Dane's sunglasses.

He saw that I had mine on top of my head so he put his up on his head as well.
