Iced In.....for two days!

I usually don't mind a snow day or two in January, but by the time the mid-end of February gets here I am sick of winter and just ready for warmer weather.  We had been lucky this year and made it through most of winter with no snow days.  It was looking so good that I had already gotten the date, May 17th in my mind for the last day of school.

Last Tuesday everyone started talking about this winter storm coming.  I really didn't want it to come.  Then everyone was talking about the timing of the storm, which would come while we were in school.  Schools started cancelling early Wednesday evening.  We have a new Superintendent this year and I was starting to get worried that we would try to go into school and then I would not be able to get home.  I was actually really shocked.  Ste Gen is usually one of the first to cancel, but we were holding out on Wednesday evening.  I had gotten everything ironed for Thursday when we finally got the call that school was cancelled.

I have to add in that Dave woke me up at 5:15 AM Thursday morning and then said, "Oh, that's right, you don't have school do you?"  And then, I couldn't fall back asleep.....

Cancelling turned out to be a good thing because it wasn't much after 9:00 a.m. on Thursday that it started sleeting, hard.....it iced up very quickly down here so I was glad we were at home.

So I spent Thursday and Friday home with two WILD little boys!  We had PJ days.  We ate chips and guacamole and made brownies. We had a lot of fun playing, but man was I busy.  These boys keep me on my toes!  It was hard that we couldn't go outside either day.  I think we all just needed to go outside and run around.

I really, really wish I could video Reese all day for you all to see.  This little guy has so.much.energy!  I usually have my phone nearby so I am able to snap quick pictures of his wildness.  No one would believe it if I didn't.  I have never seen anyone move so fast.

Standing on his firetruck and eating snacks out of his snack bowl....Max enjoys what he drops.

Playing hide and go seek with me during one of his still moments.

He pulls the blanket off and cracks up laughing.

Using the Dino to help him reach toys on the higher shelves

Standing on his chair to turn the utility room light on and off

Getting inside his shopping cart.....he stood up in it before I got him out

Climbing on tables is a favorite.....he was using the intercom on Dane's cash register as a telephone.

I was in the bathroom and could see Reese so I asked Dane to help Reese and he climbed up with him and gave him a hug and a kiss.

Enjoying his nutrigrain bar and some of Mommy's scrambled eggs

On yet another table....he always smiles when I go to get him down.

One day after lunch I cleaned Reese up and got him out of his high chair.  I was cleaning Dane up and I turn around and Reese is sitting on the dinning room table shoving all of Dane's left over lunch into his mouth as fast as he can.

Another time I was making guacamole and I turn around to find Reese on the dining room table taking my centerpiece apart.

Then he crawls up in my lap and falls asleep in just a few seconds.

Dane is so funny.  He is really, really calm compared to Reese.  He even said to me one day, "Now that Reese is taking a nap can we lay on the couch, snuggle, and relax?"

He played the guitar for a little bit.

He made my coffee table the garage for all of this cars and trucks.

Dane was so confused.  This looks like snow, but it was ice.   We would walk across it and not even leave a footprint.  Dane really wanted to build a snowman and was upset when he couldn't pick up any of the ice.

We enjoyed our days together, but honestly just want winter to move along and for it to be summer time!

This picture is from last Wednesday.  I dropped Dane and Reese off at daycare at 7:20 and Dane was super excited about the dress up clothes that Tracey had out.  At 7:35 Tracey sent me this picture of Dane dressed as a Transformer.

Our Week!

We had a fun week celebrating my birthday and Valentines Day.  The boys gave me presents and cards and Dave fixed a delicious steak dinner for me on Monday night because I had a training at school until 7:00 p.m. the night of my birthday.

My little Valentines

Dave kept the boys home on Monday so they could get ready for my birthday and while they were shopping Dave got Dane some new Spiderman underwear.  He was so excited the next morning to pick which pair he wanted to wear.

I love it when Tracey send me pictures of the boys during the day.  Reading in hammocks...they always have so much fun at daycare.

Friday afternoon Dave took both boys up to Kirkwood to spend the night.  Dane was so excited.  He took his sleeping bag that he got from us for Valentines Day.

They went to the Kirkwood High Basketball game and then Reese went home with my mom to spend the night and Dane when home with Aunt Amy and Uncle Darnel for a sleepover with Trey.

Amy sent me this picture of Dane taking pictures of everyone.

He was so excited to be having a sleepover.

Saturday afternoon Dave and I went to Kirkwood and we had dinner at my mom and dads for my birthday and Claire's birthday.

My mom got cupcakes for the kids.

Baby Trey really wanted to have a cupcake with the kids.

My mom got Turtle Ice Cream cake for my birthday.
Dane was excited to sing Happy Birthday to me and help me blow out the candles.

We spent the night in Kirkwood on Saturday night.  Sunday morning my dad made us waffles for breakfast and then Dave and Reese heading out for a day together at Bass Pro and Cabelas.  Dane came with my mom and I while we went to Target, then we took him over to Aunt Amy's house to play with Trey for a little bit.

After both boys had a nap we headed to the Bowling Alley to go bowling for Claire's birthday.

 Cousins so excited to bowl!

Claire in her cute little bowling outfit.

Daddy helped Dane on his first time.

It took the ball a long, long time to make it down, but he watched it the whole way.

Waiting their turn to bowl

Ready to try it on his own.

They all got so excited when the ball made it all the way down the lane.

Reese was going crazy wanting a turn.

We had to hold on to him or he would take off after the ball.

Mama waiting with the kids for their turns.

Reese was devastated he didn't get to go again.

One more turn...

Reese loved watching, but he really wanted to bowl the whole time.

After bowling we had pizza and cupcakes.

Reese sat with my dad while he ate.

Dane picked a cupcake with black icing, of course.

Next year Baby Trey will be all over the place.
