Church Easter Egg Hunt

The day before Easter we went to the Easter Egg Hunt at church.

When we got there the first thing we did was see the "Easter Bunny."
Reese sat on his lap first.
Dane stood next to him, but didn't get too close.
Claire was excited to be there.
Dane didn't want his face painting, but he got an Easter Egg painted on his hand.

Showing Daddy his hand

He decorated an Easter cookie.

Adding the sprinkles was his favorite part.

He sat next to Trey for storytime.

Daddy fed Reese a bottle.

Sweet Delaney!  It was her first year to "work" at the event.
She was excited and did such a good job.

Coloring time!

Sweet Claire working on her picture.

Buddies!

These three were so excited to hunt for eggs.

When we headed out the door for the egg hunt Dane yelled, "Eggs!"
Then he took off running.

Checking out his eggs!

Claire and Dane looking at their prizes.

Dane was so sweet to give Reese an egg.

We love this fun event at our church!

Easter Egg Dying

I am finally getting around to blogging about our Easter Weekend.  It was a fun time that started out on Thursday evening.  We started the weekend with our traditional Easter Egg Dying at my grandma's house.  She loves having the great-grandkids over for Easter Egg Dying.

Dane really enjoyed the egg dying this year.

He might have been a little excited for his egg to come out of the water.

I worried that my eggs would be cracked because he would stir them so much, but they were ok.

He loved to show me his eggs.

Trey and Claire waiting for their eggs to be finished.

Laney and Dane dunking some eggs.

Our beautiful eggs!

Sweet Reese just hung out and played.

My sweet grandma made her traditional Egg Dying Dinner for us.
A nice night of hanging out with family.

Reese is 6 months old!

So hard to believe my sweet Reese is 6 months old!
He is such a happy little man and we just love him to pieces.

Reese has his 6 month dr appointment on Friday so I am excited to find out his weight and length stats.  Right now Reese is wearing mostly 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers.

Reese is eating more and more baby food everyday it seems.  Right now he still takes his 4 six oz bottles a day, then he also eats fruit and cereal for breakfast, fruit and veggies for lunch, and fruit and veggies for dinner.

Reese has started teething, but I haven't seen any little teeth pop through yet!  He is constantly chewing on something!

Reese loves to play in his exersaucer and also loves to play on the floor with Dane.  He is looking like he wants to start crawling so bad.  He rolls and rolls and rolls around once I put him on the floor.
Reese still loves his big brother.  He loves to watch Mickey Mouse with him before we leave for school in the morning.  He loves to watch Dane dance and sing.  He also loves when Dane blows raspberries on his stomach.

He thinks Dane is such a funny little boy!

I love to hear them laugh and play together.

Reese is still having a hard time making it through bath time without falling asleep.
 What a sweet, sweet boy!

Reese is soooo tired..........

Reese has been so tired lately that he has been falling asleep in the bathtub.
We have moved bathtime up to 7:00, but he still falls asleep.
We wrap him up, carry him to his room, lotion him up, and put his pjs on while he sleeps away.
Must be exhausting to be so cute!

Dinnertime Buddies

Sunday night we were eating dinner and everyone was in a great mood!  The weather had been beautiful, everyone took great naps, and we were all looking forward to Dave's week long vacation that started today!

Dane decided he wanted us to move his chair so he could sit by Reese.  I moved him next to Reese and he kept scooting his chair closer and closer.  Once he got settled he jumped in his chair, reached over and grabbed Reese's hand.  He loved sitting next to Reese.
Reese seems just as happy to have Dane sitting next to him.
Then Dane leans right over and grabs Reese's face for a big kiss.

Lake Forest Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday was our neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt.  I was in charge of it and I was so worried about it.  I found out a while ago that Dave would have to work.  That meant I would be in charge of the food, the hunt, pictures with the Easter Bunny, and both boys by myself.  I finally recruited my neighbor, who is also my good friend from school.  We had the perfect plan.  We would meet Friday night and decorate. Saturday morning we would meet and hide the eggs, then during the Easter Party Grace would take care of the food and pictures, her high school daughter would take care of Reese, and I would take care of Dane.

Thursday morning about 8:30 Dave text me and tells me he has to work 7 am- 11pm Friday.  There went my plan to decorate Friday night.  I just figured we would have to do it Saturday morning.  Then about 9:15 Thursday morning Grace came to my classroom door in tears.  Her mom has been sick and they had just called her and told her they were taking her off life support.  She was leaving for Springfield, MO immediately.  I felt so bad for her.

Then I tried to figure out what I was going to do.  Friday after school I ran and picked up the fruit tray, donuts, and milk for the party.  I met a friend of mine at the Lake Forest Community Center and her and her daughter played with Dane and held Reese while I took the food into the community center and gathered all of the paper supplies for the party.  We then decided that her daughter would come help me on Saturday morning  (She had Kindergarten screening at school so she wasn't able to come).  It turns out that Lauren was the perfect little mom's helper.  She helped me so much on Saturday.

Saturday morning we got up and ready for the Easter Party.  I kept telling Dane that Lauren was going to help him and he seemed fine with it.  I asked him if he wanted to see the Easter Bunny and he said, "I don't like bunnies mom."

Lauren was a life saver.  I got things ready inside and she headed down to the Lake Forest Park to hide all of the eggs for me.  Once she came back inside she played with Dane while I finished getting things ready.

Dane was ready for the egg hunting to start.
The bunny looking at all of the eggs!

It was a beautiful day and we had a great crowd!
The kids all had a list with what eggs they had to find...2 purple, 1 blue.......
Laruen and Dane were off!
He did such a good job with her and had such a good time.
Spotting an egg he needed at the top of the hill.
He was so excited to show me his eggs.
He looks a little concerned about the bunny, but he did want his picture taken.
However, when we were in Kirkwood Saturday afternoon he told my mom he wanted to see the Easter Bunny.
Dane and his helper for the day!
Since I was holding Reese as I ran around and took pictures I don't have any of him at the egg hunt.
He had a great time in Kirkwood Saturday afternoon.  It was so nice he played in the exersaucer on Mama and Papa's deck.
