Sunday after a wonderful weekend with my boys we prepared to head out Monday for the first day of the school year. Dane started preschool, Reese started back to Tracey's full time, and I had my first day of all district teachers meetings. My first day with students is Friday.
Mama and Papa gave Dane a little preschool present, a book, "The Night Before Preschool". Daddy read it to him before bed.
We made his preschool sign and he was getting so excited.
He couldn't decide which backpack to take. He hung them all up and ended up taking the firetruck backpack on his first day.
Dave and my boys gave me a dozen roses for my first day back.
My boys do not like mornings, but Monday was a different story. This boy was up and ready to go.
He wanted his picture taken with Daddy.
A picture with Mommy.
So excited!
This boy was definitely NOT ready to get up early and head out.
We were on our way! This year I have to make two stops before I get to work. When we pulled up at daycare Dane said, "See you later Reese. Mom, can you hurry?"
When I dropped Dane off I got the biggest hug and kiss, and then he just turned around and went off to play.
The majority of the kids that go to this daycare are teachers' kids. When I picked him up it was neat to hear him talk about his friends and know who they were.
Dane talked the whole way home about his day. He gave me his daily report.
I have an app on my phone that I use to take pictures of anything he brings home and I can make it into a book at the end of the year. When I take the picture it dates it. I keep the things that are extra special, but I realized after only three days that there is no way I can keep everything.
After three days of meetings and Open House last night, I am off today. Tomorrow is our first day of school. Ready for a busy, fun year!
