4th of July Carnival

4th of July Celebrations were so long ago, but it was such a great time I have to blog about it!

We headed up to St. Louis on Tuesday afternoon so that we could take Dane to the Webster Groves Community Days celebration.  My parents grew up going to this event, so it is always fun for us all to go.

Dane and Daddy walking to the carnival

Dane really didn't know what we meant when we said we were going to a carnival.  Once we got there he loved looking at all of the rides with the lights on them.

First ride was on the motorcycles, or the cycle-moes as Dane calls them.

Dave had to ride the carousel with Dane.

There was a big, fast ride next to the carousel and Dane couldn't keep his eyes off of it!

There was a little roller coaster.  Dave had to ride with Dane and I was still worried Dane would be scared.  It wasn't too terribly fast, but very jerky.

Dane held on tight and seemed to like it!

I was also worried about these umbrellas.  Dave went with Dane.  Because of their weight difference every time the umbrella went up or down it would twirl really fast.

Jetski ride!  Dane got to ride these on his own and he loved it!

Honking his horn a little

Dane had one more ride to go on and he choose this giant slide.  It was a big inflatable.  I didn't think much of it because he has done inflatables before at birthday parties and such.

As soon as we walked up he pulled off his shoes.
He loved watching the other kids come down.
Then it was his turn.  He climbed the many, many, steps up to the top.  Once he got to the top he looked down and just stopped.  He never cried, just stood at the top telling us how big it was.

He even sat down a couple of times.

Finally we realized he was not going to slide down on his own so the little worker climbed the steps and brought him down.

The whole time we were apologizing to the guy behind us with his two young boys.

We got Dane's shoes on and headed over to a snowcone stand.  About that time we looked over and the worker was once again climbing the steps to bring down the little boy that waited so patiently for Dane.  He made his money that night!

He loved his snowcone.

It was a hot night!  Thankfully Aunt Amy kept Reese so it was a special time for Dane.
It was a fun night for our little guy.
