Happy 2nd Birthday to our sweet boy!
I went round and round on whether or not to have a big birthday party for Dane. In the end I decided to have a family party. This worked well for a couple of reasons...1) Once again there was an excessive heat warning the day of the party, meaning most everyone wanted to be inside and 2) My morning sickness returned the week of the party, so I wasn't feeling all that great.
I thought it was funny because we had been talking about Dane's party for several weeks with him. I know he didn't understand it all, but he would tell me he was going to be 2 and ask me to sing, "Happy" several times a day. I would ask who we were having a party for and he would say, "Dane". The day of the party the little guy just went with the flow of things and enjoyed the day, clueless that the party was for him. We had a fun day celebrating with him. I have a LOT of pictures to remember our day.

Birthday Cookies
Circus treat boxes
Trey and Delaney had stars on the back of their tickets so they won two giant suckers!
I remember having circus peanuts when I was little. I saw this centerpiece in a magazine and loved it. I had to look everywhere for circus peanuts though!

Waiting for cake and ice cream
He kept saying, "Cake, Mommy, Cake." He was so happy when I gave him a piece.
As if cake and ice cream weren't enough, he also enjoyed a birthday cookie.
