My Little One Year Old!

I still keep thinking that I can't believe Dane is a year old! Thirty minutes ago I just finished making my last bottle of formula. Tomorrow we will start drinking milk and I will sadly be packing my bottles away. Dane has also decided that now that he is one he is too big to play in the Pack n Play while I take a shower. The past two mornings he has thrown a big fit when I put him in there. He now has to sit right outside the shower and play with toys. Guess I will have that corner of my bedroom back tomorrow when I pack that away!

We visited Dr. Andersen last Friday. Dane kept me busy while Dr. Andersen and I talked. He walked all over the exam room checking everything out. We laughed when we looked back at his Growth and Development Book for the past year. Last year on July 27th he was 7 lbs, 4 oz and in the 30% for weight and 21 inches, the 80% for length. On Friday he was 23 lbs, 9 oz, 65% for weight and 29 inches, 25% for length.

We went to the park yesterday with Mama, Aunt Katie, and Trey and Delaney. Dane liked this park and I was able to get some cute shots of the little guy. There are quite a few, but he is so cute! Hope you enjoy them!

Dane's First Birthday Party

Monkeys seemed to be popular throughout Dane's first year. He had several stuffed monkeys that he loved and a few outfits with monkeys on them that he looked adorable in. During a snow day when I was looking at the etsy website I found some cute monkey invitations and a link to cute monkey paper products. Thought a Monkey First Birthday party was perfect for our little guy!
His first birthday monkey t-shirt
He was very happy for his party!
Happy Birthday Banner that my mom and I made

Such a cute birthday hat...too bad someone didn't want to wear it!
Homemade Monkey Cupcakes.....what a project.
Thanks to Mama and Aunt Katie for their help!
Bags of Monkey Munch for everyone to take home!
We had a total MONKEY party!

Dane LOVES this sock monkey.
He let me borrow it for the decoration.
This was actually before the party even began. Mama and Papa came early and brought Dane's gift in. He was napping when they got there, but when he got up it was the first thing he went to. It was still in the box and he loved it.
Finally took it out of the box for him to play with.
Riding his little fire engine.
Delaney and Trey had fun pushing him around in his little car that mommy and daddy got him for his birthday. He loves to be pushed around and around!
Stopping to say hi!
He was excited to see all of his guests!
Grandparents, Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, and friends!
Coming in to see everyone!
Putting the finishing touches on lunch: Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Chicken, Potato Salad, Chips, Fruit, Chocolate Covered Bananas, Monkey Bread, and Banana Bread!

Time for presents!
He was really into it for the first present...after that, not so much.

Checking out his backpack
So cute, but after he looked at it he left!
He did seem to like the cards...just like his Mama.
Another card to look at
Friends and Cousins watching him open gifts!
He got many great things..a wagon, blocks, snack containers, trucks,
clothes, a savings bond, money, a toolbench...he loved everything!
Being loved on by Trey
Troy and Tyler, friends from down the street.
Aiden lives down the street and is just two months older than Dane!
Not really sure what is going to happen next...
Dane's birthday smash cake.
(Made by Aunt Katie)
When we started singing to him he just stared at everyone.
Wondering what we are all doing.
He looks like he doesn't know if he is supposed to touch the cake or not.
After he got a taste of the icing he dug right in!
Finally getting some cake!
Found the chocolate donut ear!
Enjoying his cakeOk mom, I'm done!
After cake it was time to change into swim clothes
and play in the pool a bit with his friends and cousins.
He loves the pool!
Dane had a great first birthday filled with lots of fun with his family and friends!
