I have been wanting to take Dane to a Ste Gen Basketball game all season. It seemed we always had plans on the Friday night game nights or the games were on weeknights and we just could never find a night that worked well. On Friday the 17th I decided to take Dane. Reese goes to bed at 7:30 and the Varsity Game doesn't usually start until a little after 7:00, so Dave stayed home with Reese.
Dane was so excited to go to the game. He always tells me Johnathan (his babysitter's son) plays basketball. It happened to be Senior Night at the game. Before the Varsity Game started they had the Seniors escorted out on the court by their parents. When Dane saw Tracey and Mike escort Johnathan out on the court he got so excited. He kept pointing and saying, "There's Tracey, mommy. There's Mike." We watched the first bit of the game from our seats. Dane had to get used to the buzzer going off. It scared him the first few times. After a little while Dane wanted to go see Tracey and Mike, so we headed down to their seats. He loved seeing Zack, Dylan, and the twins (Tracey's other kids). He was so cute! He would yell, "Go Johnny!" and "Whoa!" We watched the halftime performance and then headed home. It was 8:45, but he was wide awake! He talked the whole way home and as he laid in bed to go to sleep. I kind of feel bad about waiting until the last game of the season to take him. Next year we will have to go to more games!
I HATE waking Dane up in the morning! It is like waking up a teenager. We usually go into his room and turn on the lamp and some fun music, then leave the room. We wait until he calls our names. If he takes too long to wake up we have to go in and wake him and it is not enjoyable.
This morning when he called for us we went in with Reese. Dave was holding Reese and Dane got so happy. He said, "Put him in here." I didn't understand him at first and then he said. "I want to lay with Reese. Put him down." So Dave laid Reese down next to Dane and it made his morning.
After a few minutes we said it was time to get up and Dane jumped right up as happy as can be!
