Getting to be so big!

We have talked for a bit now about changing Dane's crib into a toddler bed.  He climbed out of his crib once and fell and never tried it again.  He was doing just fine in his crib, so we just let it be.

Since Reese was born he has been sleeping in the big bed at my mom and dad's house and he has been talking about it a lot lately.  Yesterday afternoon we just decided to do it.  I thought we made a mistake at first because as Dave took off the front of the crib Dane said he wanted a baby bed again.  Dave started to change it back to a crib and he decided that no, he did want a "big boy bed" as he called it.  Once we got it together he was pretty excited.
He got in right away and read some books.
Ready for bed!
Do you think he has enough stuffed animals?
You can barely see him all tucked in.  He always puts his pillow right up against the corner of the bed.  I tried to encourage him to move to the middle, but he didn't want to.
He did his usually talking to his stuffed animals and then fell asleep.  This morning he called for us.  We had put a gate up in his doorway so if he got out of bed in the middle of the night he couldn't go wandering around the house (I don't think he would, but you never know).  Well when he got up and called for us Dave went in and took down the gate.  He said, "Mommy and Daddy, Thank you for taking down the gate."
