Saturday we were up bright and early. I think we left our apartment about 8:00 a.m.
Ready for the day!
The New York streets were pretty quiet this early on a Saturday.
We had big plans for the day. It started with a walk towards the Flat Iron Building.
A cute park on our way.
The Flat Iron Building
We grabbed a bagel and a cab and headed to Brooklyn. We stopped for coffee and hot chocolates at the Brooklyn Roasting Company and then began our walk over the Brooklyn Bridge and back towards the city. It was a little cloudy and dreary and honestly, it got worse, but we had a blast!
Before heading over the bridge
Right about the time we started to walk it started to rain, then sleet, then snow.
We were pretty wet by the time we made our way across the bridge.
We walked through a cute little park.
Regrouping at a little coffee shop
Then we headed off to the Financial District and towards Battery Park.
A beautiful old church

We saw many sights along our way to Battery Park, so our time wasn't wasted even when we discovered we weren't going to go to the Statue of Liberty until Sunday.
We then headed to Greenwich Village for a late lunch.
Once Upon a Tart...a little sandwich shop we ate at
We wandered about Greenwich Village.
We left Greenwich Village and walked along the Hudson River to see some of the city before heading to the 9/11 Memorial. We had tickets for dusk. It was absolutely amazing!

We took our first cab of the day about 5:30 as we headed back to the apartment to get ready for dinner. We literally walked all day long, but we had such a blast and saw so much.
One of the highlights of our trip was seeing our cousin, Sarah, and her husband, Andrew. We met for dinner Saturday night and had an amazing time. Dinner was delicious and it was so fun to catch up.
We had such a good time in fact that we headed down the street to a pub after dinner and before long it was 2:00 a.m.
After a wonderful, long day we fell into bed about 2:30 a.m. after leaving our apartment at 8:00 a.m. that morning.
