Halloween Weekend

We had a very busy, but fun Halloween weekend. I think Dane enjoyed every second. He literally collapsed into bed last night. I think he was asleep before I closed his door!

Mommy and Dane as I got ready to take him to daycare
for his Halloween party.
He looked pretty excited....and sooo big!
Dane took a Pumpkin book to all of his little buddies at daycare.
Tracey gave him a pumpkin with his name on it, which he loved.
When I walked in to pick him up there were orange and black balloons hanging everywhere.
He was so happy so I know he had a great day celebrating with his friends.

Friday afternoon we headed up to Kirkwood. We hung out at Aunt Amy and Uncle Darnel's house and had pizza on Friday night. Then we spent the night at Mama and Papa's house. Saturday was beautiful so we went to the Kirkwood Farmer's Market with Mama, Aunt Amy, and the kids.
Dane loved seeing all of the pumpkins!
He checked out the Halloween displays.
He rode a couple of tractors.
He loved the swing!
There was a big pool filled with corn.
Dane played in it for quite a while.
He was shoveling and driving tractors through the corn.
He loved it when Trey and Delaney joined him.
Laney pushed him around on the tractors a little.
He loved to sit on them, but his little legs couldn't reach the pedals.
He would move the steering wheel and smile like he was really driving.
He pushed them around.
It was hard to get a good picture because if there is anyone else around
he is watching them!
Trying to pull Laney in the wagon.
We then headed over to the playground.
Getting ready to slide!
He will sit and look around for a while before finally sliding down.
When we got back to Mama and Papa's house we played outside a little.
He loved loading up Mama's pumpkins and pulling them around in his little wagon.
After a little Halloween dinner and some Halloween treats we head home Saturday evening.
Sunday morning we prepared Chili and got ready for our big night.
We hosted dinner for our friends in our neighborhood before we all headed out trick or treating.
Before we left Dane enjoyed a Halloween cupcake!
Ready to go!
What a cute little face!
We hadn't even left the house yet and he was already asking for more to eat!
He was so happy!
I kept wondering what he thought of all of his little friends dressed up
like monkey's dinosaurs, and spiders!
We loaded up 6 families with 7 kids, all except for one under the age of 3, onto a haywagon
and took off on our ride around the neighborhood to trick or treat.

Mommy and Dane on the haywagon.
Dane really liked this little 18 month old monkey, Emerson.
Colton, the fireman.
Dane and Colton should have walked together.
Amanda and Clay (Colton's parents)
If we walk to the back of our backyard we can see Clay and Amanda's back door.
I have a feeling these boys will be spending a lot of time in the field
between our houses in years to come.
So smiley!
Thank goodness for a 2 hour nap!
We had quite the crew when people opened their doors.
The DARE officer passing out candy.
Daddy and Dane on the haywagon.
We had a great time trick or treating with our friends in the neighborhood!

Trunk or Treat at Church......and a few other things!

Sunday morning Dane took a big step....or maybe I did?? Going to church used to be so easy. We go to the 9:05 service. Dane used to hang out, listen to the music, and look around, then right before the Morning Message he would doze off and sleep through the rest of service. He would snuggle in my arms and we could sit and listen to the service.
Then he got older.
Then he got loud.
Then he started moving around.
So we started leaving him with Mama and Papa while we went to the 9:05 service.

This Sunday we decided to try the church nursery. When we went in he was the only one there. I filled out my information card and signed him in. Then another little boy came in. Dane got interested in a toy and I gave him a quick hug and went out the door. He watched me leave. I peeked back in the window and he was just kind of standing there looking around. I sat in the back of church, just in case they had to come get me. Everytime the door opened I looked to see if it was one of the nursery workers. We both made it through service. He was happy to see me when I got back. I think we will try it again!

Sunday afternoon we went to the Church Trunk or Treat. We shared a trunk with Aunt Amy and the kids.

Delaney came up with the trunk idea...Wizard of Oz.
All of the characters, the castle, and yellow brick road, and the CD from the movie playing.
My little dalmation waving from the wagon.
He loved to watch everyone in their costumes.
Delaney, the chef
Trey, our firefighter
He held on tightly to his treat bag.
The cousins getting ready to make their rounds.
Delaney and Trey took good care of Dane.
They pulled him around and put the candy in his bag.
He was so calm, just holding his bag, going to all of the cars......
and then all of a sudden it was like he realized it was candy.
He grabbed a piece and started chewing on it while still in the wrapper.
Delaney was pulling it out of his hands and he was screaming!!
I had to go intervene.
What a cute, little face!
Mama and her grandkids
Taking a walk down to pumpkin decorating
Delaney WON...1st place for best theme!!
Dane loved running all over.
It was funny. He would stare at everyone.
People would tell him how cute he was and he would just look at them.
Little guy had no idea he was dressed as a puppy!
*****We spent the night at Mama and Papa's Sunday night so we could go to see Dr. Andersen today. Besides some allergy issues right now, Dane is just perfect!
24.9 pounds, 31 inches....50th percentile for weight and height.

My Sweet Boy is 15 Months Old!

Dane is 15 months old today! I am amazed everyday by how much he has changed. He is such a busy, happy boy.
  • We visit the Dr. on Monday for his 15 month checkup so we will find out his weight and height stats then.
  • Wearing mostly 12 month clothes-I bought several pairs of 18 month shorts last spring on sale and he has never been able to wear them....guess I overestimated his size!
  • He won't let me hold him or rock him when he wants to go to sleep. When I tell him it is night, night time he takes my hand, waves bye to Daddy, and walks to his bedroom. I give him his blanket and he practically throws himself out of my arms to get into bed.
  • Doing sign language for more and cup. Tracey is working with him on all done and eat.
  • This kid eats ANYTHING!! His favorite is ground turkey with black beans and salsa and any kind of fruit. He has had roast, taco soup, veggie pizza, and every kind of fruit you can imagine at Tracey's house. Tracey tells me he is usually the last one sitting at the table eating.
  • When I drop Dane off at Tracey's in the morning he goes right into the kitchen to see what's for breakfast. He barely says goodbye to me, but in the afternoon he always greets me with a big hug and smile.
  • Dane has little buddies at daycare...Simon, Dylan, and Carson get lots of hugs from Dane everyday...whether they want one or not!
  • LOVES books! We read soooo many every night. I love him to crawl into my lap with a book.
  • Naps on a cot at daycare.
  • Loves to hug and kiss us.
  • Loves Max, even though Max is not his biggest fan.
  • Loves to play outside on his playset, his swing, and take a ride in his wagon.
He runs all over the backyard!

We had to rearrange our house for the safety of our little monkey.

One evening I walked into this....

Dane pushed his little dinosaur up to the table, stood on it, and.....

laid his little body on my coffee table.....

I can hardly believe it when I watch him play and interact. He is getting to be such a big boy. We are having so much fun with him and love him so much!
